Orlando’s Company Of Wolves
Come within
a hundred paces of a pack of wolves, walk in fear when they ain’t sated,
Children of
the night, loathsome creatures most hated,
The Alpha
Dog with a bloodcurdling howl urges his subordinates out on a chase,
Cruel and
merciless, it’s business as usual dispatching death blows at great haste,
In just
about a minute, the first victim yelps in pain,
Two more
fatal bites to the jugular, Red Star’s lifeblood starts to wane.
Second
victim is far from refuge, pack co-ordination is called upon to fell,
Reinforcements are run out, with hackles raised unleash a torrent of hell,
Fearless
defenders protect the old wolf looking unimpressed back at the lair,
The lack of
teeth upon display is rapidly laid bare,
A moment of
hesitation is spotted from the victim’s rear guard,
Without
mercy a single bite is delivered, and death is thus assured.
Hunger
pangs still present, a new lamb comes to the slaughter,
It’s a
dogs’ game, not a bitches’, to the lone female a lesson gets taught her,
Messing
with these dogs is foolhardy, cause pity they have none,
Though a
gritty battle ensues, the conclusion is forgone,
Wounded by
a vicious strike, the victim still has a bit of fight,
‘Are you
not entertained?” is the cry as they are dispatched in style, much to the
crowd’s delight.
Two
well-matched packs go at it, the faint-hearted run for cover,
No quarter
is shown, feathers go flying, this is what they live for,
Chances to
kill are few and far between, hope for reprieve is on the prey’s side,
Luck runs
out when the runt defends alone, tantamount to suicide,
Assertion
of dominance is at first denied, the phoenix then realize they’re doomed,
They fly
back north not knowing what’s hit them, to lick their bloody wounds.
The pack
has reached its full potential that nothing now can outrun,
The final
kill is no longer for survival, but simply bloodlust fun,
A short
time elapses when its most valuable hunter is finally set loose,
Death is
not quick or painless, a mere tightening of the noose,
Vicious
attacks rain in thick and fast, precious little is offered in reply,
Ignore the
Kaohsiung pack at your peril and like all before them, you as well shall die!
